In Georgia, a black, handsome man (so they say he was handsome) was charged with raping a white woman near a CVS parking lot. The defendant hired a private attorney to represent him and the defense was "the sex was consensual and I'm too handsome to rape someone anyway". At trial, the jury could not come to a unanimous decision because one juror believed there was a conspiracy issue going on with the police and a video shown. A second trial was conducted and defendant was found guilty. However, at the second trial, the defendant could not afford a private attorney. Therefore, a public defender represented him and only went with a "sex was consensual" defense. There was a lot of uproar during the first trial over the defense used. Some wonder if it would have worked had it been used in the second trial.
An 18 year old decided to prank her boyfriend by saying that she was pregnant. Well, the boyfriend did not take it very well and became very angry. The girl lost her temper, pulled out a knife and cut his throat! Thankfully the boyfriend is still alive. However, the girl has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon.
